CD8+ T lymphocytes as mediators and markers of kidney disease progression in lupus nephritis (LN)
2024
Lupus nephritis (LN) is a frequent complication of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE): A complex autoimmune disorder that mainly affects young women. Current LN management achieves renal remission in only 20-30% of patients by 6-12 months of treatment; 5-10% develop end-stage renal disease within ten years of disease onset. Our projects seeks to identify potential markers and mechanisms of disease, for translation into clinical use.
