Naomi Serov (b. Vienna, 1999):
Exploring monoprint techniques, Naomi creates serial images of office and postage stamps, animals, icons and other religious motifs, blending sacral stillness with painterly spontaneity. In het artist’s statement, she states she is in no state to state and that her painting is best described by what it is not. And so it is: her black-and-white prints on diaphanous canvases, all unique pieces, are orderly yet not easily categorised, sitting at the crossroads between drawing, painting and printmaking.
