Project of Eva Van Braeckel supported by the Fund A & J Forton and the Belgian CF Association muco.be : 'Inflammatory airway diseases such as cystic fibrosis (CF) are determined by a continuous interplay of local and systemic immunity, and micro-organisms residing in the airways. For the first time in history, CF care is at a tipping point, with CFTR modulators tackling the disease at its very root. This offers a unique momentum to study alterations in host – microorganism interactions, and understand better what is fuelling the disease: the pathogen or the host defines?'
