Project of Céline Kempeneers supported by the Fund A & J Forton and the Belgian CF Association, muco.be : 'Mucociliary clearance (MCC) is impaired in Cystic Fibrosis (CF), due to abnormal respiratory mucus, but we also demonstrated a ciliary dyskinesia in CF. Bronchodilators and corticosteroids are largely used in CF despite no evidence of clinical efficacy. Some studies suggest that they might have an effect on ciliary beating and MCC, but this has not been studied in CF.
