€ 29,290In patients with spondyloarthritis (SpA), there is ample evidence for the presence of subclinical gut inflammation and bacterial dysbiosis. The Spider project aims to characterize these features in healthy but genetically predisposed first-degree relatives of axial SpA patients, of which 10-20% is expected to develop SpA over time. While baseline data provide insights in SpA pathogenesis, longitudinal follow-up will additionally reveal their predictive value in relation to disease onset.
