Helmut Kohl (Fund)
Support for projects that provide concrete help to people with disabilities, socially disadvantaged or elderly people in the German-speaking Community.
What is it about?
The objective of the fund is to help visually impaired people and to support initiatives that work on their behalf. In particular, the fund will support the training of guide dogs for the blind as well as dogs used for all kinds of initiatives to help disadvantaged people: People with disabilities, disaster victims, etc. The Fund will also support organisations that take care of these dogs when they can no longer be used, this applies in particular to the Kettenis shelter.
As far as the resources of the fund make it possible, the fund shall acquire two properties to enable severely disabled people to find a home suitable for their disability. The rents are to be adjusted to the social circumstances of the people concerned.
Another objective is to support care for the elderly at home for people in need. Furthermore, palliative care at the Moresnet Clinic (Sonnenschein GOE) is to be supported on a permanent basis.
