Generet (Fund)

The Fund supports projects in 2 different areas: housing for the elderly and research into rare diseases.

Beautiful old buildings, protected or not, are converted into housing for the elderly and/or people at risk of isolation thanks to the Fund's support.

The Generet Prize is one of the most prestigious prizes in Belgium : €1,000,000 is awarded each year to a top researcher, attached to a Belgian research institution, doing pioneering work in the field of rare diseases. The annual call is open both to researchers with a track record in rare diseases and to top researchers in more common conditions whose work can make a particular contribution to rare diseases. In this way, the Fund gives a major boost to rare disease research in Belgium.
