Corporate Fund

Create a partnership with the Foundation for your philanthropic activities.

Would your company like to structure its philanthropic activities in some way and, in order to do so, establish a partnership with the King Baudouin Foundation?

A corporate Fund enables your company to invest effectively in one or more good causes in Belgium and/or abroad. Furthermore, such a fund helps strengthen your corporate image among your clients, shareholders and personnel.

Over many years, the King Baudouin Foundation has acquired extensive experience in creating partnerships with businesses and in the creation and management of corporate Funds. We also create synergy between the Foundation’s various Funds and programmes so as to increase the impact of their activities.

Duration

A corporate Fund has a duration of at least three years but this period may be extended.

How it works

Before setting up a corporate fund, the King Baudouin Foundation consults Vigeo Eiris about the way the company in question is run and its corporate social responsibility. Once it has been created, the Foundation takes charge of the fund’s administrative management, oversees the impact it is making and how it is run and helps build its awareness. An independent Management Committee – in which both the company and the Foundation are represented – takes the strategic decisions. And an independent jury selects the projects that merit support from the corporate Fund.

Budget

Corporate Funds have to have a minimum of 50,000 euros per year to finance projects. The one-off incorporation fee amounts to 5,000 euros. The Foundation is authorised to make an annual deduction of 5% of the total amount donated to the Fund to finance its own activities. This percentage is degressive for total donations amounting to over 100,000 euros: 3% between 100,000 and 500,000 euros, 1% between 500,000 and 1 mio euros, and 0.5% for amounts totalling over 1 mio euros, with a minimum of 10,000 euros per year.

Taxation

The Fund’s assets are constituted by an annual contribution via the King Baudouin Foundation’s account BE10 0000 0000 0404. Transfers made by the company are tax-deductible from the taxable profit (Article 145/33 of the Belgian Income Tax Code).

Companies based, or with subsidiaries:

  • in France, the Netherlands, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and Denmark, can benefit from tax allowances in accordance with the tax legislation in the country concerned - since the King Baudouin Foundation is recognised by the tax authorities in these countries;
  • elsewhere in Europe and in the world, they can benefit from the services provided by:

To achieve that result, we had to convince farmers, because initially they were very hesitant to use the organic products.Today, they follow us, especially since they no longer have to wear protective clothing to avoid burns caused by the chemical products. BioPhyto products are better for their health and that of the population, which can now count on healthy and organic food. And that means great long-term progress for health, the environment and the economy."

“The relationship between funder and grantee is important,. Social entrepreneurs are passionate about what they do. Trust is critical in the sense of empowering implementers. I experienced that trust and that was empowering, the feeling that I have control to take decisions that I see are right for us.”
