Friends of The Vatican Library (Fund)

The objective of the Fund is to support the projects of the Vatican Library, including the preservation and restoration of its current collection.

What is it about?

The Fund’s purpose is:

  1. to assist the Vatican Library in the conservation, restoration, development, cataloguing, digitization, acquisition, promotion and study of its collections including mainly ancient, important, and rare manuscripts, incunabula and other printed books, prints and drawings, medallions and coins, and in improving its facilities.
    1. to maintain and increase the reputation of the Vatican Library in the world by all appropriate events,
    2. to encourage the establishment of similar associations abroad and to promote in a variety of ways the building up and maintenance of collections,
    3. to increase access to students and researchers from all over the world
    4. to develop existing relationships with foreign institutions also interested in the Vatican Library.
