What is it about?

The Marianne Van Vyve Fund was set up in memory of Belgian painter Marianne Van Vyve (1943-1991). Throughout her life she supported the creation of art, welcomed many musicians into her home and opened her artist's studio to others in a spirit of encounter and openness.

It is this spirit that the Fund wishes to honor by organizing and awarding the yearly Marianne Van Vyve Prize (€ 5.000), an independent painting prize awarded each year to an outstanding Master student from the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp where Van Vyve herself was a student. The aim of the Prize is to encourage young artists during the often difficult first year after graduation, by offering them both financial support and online exposure.
