KBF and Give2Asia announce partnership to simplify cross-border philanthropy
Today, the King Baudouin Foundation (KBF), Give2Asia, and its global affiliates are pleased to announce a new partnership to promote and facilitate cross-border charitable giving.
This partnership deepens a history of cooperation between six international philanthropy entities:
• KBF: Serving donors in Belgium and across Europe together with the Transnational Giving Europe network.
• KBFUS: Serving donors in the USA, primarily supporting charities based in Europe and Africa.
• KBF Canada: Serving donors in Canada to develop and implement charitable projects internationally.
• Give2Asia: Serving donors in the USA, supporting charities in 23 countries across the Asia-Pacific.
• Give2Asia Foundation Ltd: Serving donors giving internationally from China—Hong Kong SAR.
• Give2Asia Australia: Launching in Spring 2021 to serve Australia-based donors seeking to support poverty alleviation and other causes internationally.
With this new collaboration, individual donors and philanthropists, corporations, and foundations will benefit from:
1. More geographic options for tax-deductible giving
2. A wider network of vetted nonprofits and grantees
3. High quality services and philanthropic advice with similar fees offered globally
“Donors in every country deserve a simple and trusted way to support charities across borders,” said Thomas Leysen, Chair of the Board of Governors of the King Baudouin Foundation. “This partnership will offer a new caliber of philanthropic service to individuals and corporations who want to make a difference.”
As part of the agreement, KBF is establishing the KBF Endowment Fund at Give2Asia to support Give2Asia’s future growth. The organisations are exchanging board members to further deepen the partnership. In the coming months, the organisations will work to align services to offer donors a streamlined international giving experience that will connect 5 continents.

This is the first step toward developing a worldwide, multi-partner network to encourage, stimulate and facilitate cross-border philanthropy. This network will provide advice and guidance to donors across the globe, as well as access to local tax information and planning resources, build trust, and lower the threshold for creating new international philanthropic initiatives.
“Our organisations have already started identifying best practices and developing joint initiatives,” said Peter Piot, Chair of KBFUS. “Ultimately, this will result in a better experience for both donors and grantees, for the benefit of people and communities across five continents.”
