Isaan Thailand (European Friends Fund)
Support for educational and micro-economic initiatives that contribute to the development of disadvantaged regions in South-East Asia and, more specifically, Isaan, in Thailand.
What is it about?
The Isaan Fund aims to contribute to the improvement of education and to support micro-economic initiatives for the development of disadvantaged territories in Southeast Asia, particularly in the Isaan region of Thailand.
To achieve this goal, the Isaan Fund pursues several activities:
- Installation and maintenance of computer classrooms: The Isaan Fund installs and maintains state-of-the-art computer classrooms in schools in Northeast Thailand.
- Scholarships: The Isaan Fund awards scholarships to children with high potential but limited financial means each year.
- Sending volunteers: Isaan Fund volunteers set up computer classrooms on site and provide regular maintenance and upkeep of the computers throughout their normal life cycle. Isaan Fund volunteers also work closely with local teachers to improve the teaching of English as a second language.
