The Swallow, Centre of Emancipating Education, was established in 2002 in The Gambia, West-Africa. The Swallow is a legal association, registered as a local non-profit organization. The main activity is a nursery and primary school, with other activities related to the integration of health education, youth work on food security & health, and research about a different pedagogical approach. There are 3 nursery classes, 6 primary classes for a total of 230 children. The staff has 25 members: coordination, 12 teachers, technical staff, cooking team.
