UCB Innovation for Health Equity Fund

Europe and InternationalHealth

Support for initiatives raising awareness about epilepsy, increasing the diagnosis capacity and improving the acceptance of persons living with the disease.

What is it about?

The overall objective of the Fund is to improve the quality of life and access to care for people with epilepsy in low and middle income countries. The fund will focus on access to qualified neurological care for people with epilepsy in low and middle income countries. The aim is to reduce the social stigma for these people and their families, to train health professionals and communities, and to enable these people to return to normal social and professional life. In particular, the Fund will support initiatives that raise awareness of the disease among the population, health professionals and public health authorities, improve acceptance of people with the disease, increase the medical and scientific knowledge of health professionals, and increase diagnostic capacity.
