Philanthropists support projects of the non-profit organisation River Cleanup, which raises awareness, educates and takes an active stance against litter in and around rivers.
The Fund was created on the initiative of philanthropic friends. They use their own network and that of River Cleanup to collect donations. The funds collected are used to financially support various projects of the organisation.
The River Cleanup non-profit organisation aims to remove litter from rivers and river banks, both manually and by using smart technologies. In addition, the non-profit organisation focuses on :
- sensitising people to leave less litter behind;
- education by visiting schools and companies;
- transformation to sort and recycle the collected waste.
