Children's Fund Louise Connet and Benny Keutgen (Fund)
Supporting young children, children with disabilities, refugee children, orphans and half-orphans with music and music-related activities.
What is it about?
The Louise Connet and Benny Keutgen Children's Fund, administered by the King Baudouin Foundation, has set itself the following four goals:
- the promotion of music for children and young people,
- the promotion of projects that bring children, young people and music together,
- the promotion of young musicians in kindergartens, in schools and in the youth sector, the support of rehearsal work, the purchase of instruments and the placement of music teachers, as well as the arrangement of performance opportunities,
- awarding scholarships for social work with children.
In particular, the fund would like to provide long-term support for young children, children with disabilities, refugee children, orphans and half-orphans and also children growing up in foster families with music and music-related activities such as movement, dance and excursions.
The first aim of the fund will be to award the "Louise in Ré" promotion prize - a seal of quality for children's music schools - every two years in East Belgium, based on the "Singing with Children" course and the further training "Primacanta - every child its voice!" of the Födekam Ostbelgien Music Association and the Autonomous University of the German-speaking Community. Every children's school (primary school and kindergarten) that has taken part in this training and applies what it has learned is eligible to apply.
This prize, or seal of approval, consists of a certificate, a plaque and a promotional prize of € 5,000 for songbooks, instruments, training, projects, etc.
