13 07 2021
The management of the Covid-19 crisis by governments and the EU, restrictions on freedom and the health of democracy. New eupinions research conducted among European citizens.
What is it about?
The COVID-19 pandemic has confronted governments across the globe with unprecedented challenges. Efforts to curb the virus often implied previously unheard-of restrictions on individual freedoms. What is it that EU citizens value the most about democracy? How well do they think does it function? And how do they evaluate their governments’ and the EU’s crisis management? eupinions is an independent platform for European public opinion launched in 2015 by the Bertelsmann Stiftung and supported since 2020 by the King Baudouin Foundation. The eupinions team collect, analyse and comment on what the European public thinks about current political issues and megatrends. eupinions employs cutting-edge data collection techniques. Every quarter, they collect samples from each EU member state in 22 languages.
