Daisy Jacobs (Fonds)
The fund supports initiatives that provide aid in humanitarian emergencies, initiatives that help burn victims and scientific research into cancer.
What is it about?
The Daisy Jacobs Fund currently supports MSF, research in biostatistics and scientific research on biochemical mechanisms of action in cancer.
For research in biostatistics, the fund is supporting in 2023 a fellowship for Ridwan Oyebayo Olaniran, PhD, selected by EORTC under the EORTC Fellowship in Biostatistics 2023-2024 with the aim of improving RECIST and iRECIST methodology by analysing the EORTC's large database and collecting data from immunotherapy clinical trials.
For Scientific research on biochemical mechanisms of action in cancer, the following 2 prjects received support in 2023, for a period of 2 years:
KU Leuven (Marlies Vanden Bempt) - Characterization of non-canonical EZH2 transcriptional complexes to identify new therapeutic targets in peripheral T cell lymphoma
Université libre de Bruxelles (Evelyne Collignon) - An innovative epitranscriptomic approach to target cancer persister cells
The Fund Daisy Jacobs is launching a new joint call for scientific research on biochemical mechanisms of action in cancer, together with other Funds in 2026.
