Bernard Thys: Intergenerational Projects (Fund)
Support for intergenerational and multicultural projects for troubled young people in Belgium and developing countries.
What is it about?
The Fund aims to support intergenerational and multicultural projects, in order to improve the transfer of knowledge and experience from older people to young people in difficulty. The Fund wants to help disadvantaged young people through learning at school and through a sport such as "gateball", to improve their skills. Support for projects of associations preferably in Argentina, Uruguay, Canada, Vietnam, Senegal and Belgium.
In terms of sport, the Bernard Thys Fund would like to highlight the benefits of gateball, a sport based on croquet and originating in Japan, which helps young people (aged 12-14) to stay calm, deal with stress and time, lead a team and see the value of the short, medium and long term.
This sport teaches them to make good decisions quickly and to take responsibility little by little.
