Mobile School (Friends of Fund)

International

Philanthropists support the educational, awareness-raising and formative tasks of Mobile School, which helps street workers to 'really' listen to children.

What is it about?

The Fund was created on the initiative of philanthropic friends. They use their own network and that of the asbl Mobile School to collect donations. The funds collected are used to financially support various projects of the organisation.

Asbl Mobile School develops educational materials and provides education and training for local street educators. In all its work it promotes a "positive" approach to teaching that helps street educators to 'really listen' to the children. This is a strategy based on empathy and empowerment. Mobile School makes materials available to selected partner organisations. The association also uses workshops to raise awareness of the realities facing street children and young people. The founders of the 'Friends of Mobile School Fund' aim to contribute towards: (1) building new schools and development of new educational materials, (2) providing new educational materials for existing schools and providing extra training for street educators, and (3) investing in research and development.
