MAKS (Friends of Fund)

Social engagement

Philanthropists support creative projects of the asbl MAKS to make young and older residents of Cureghem more socially and economically resilient.

What is it about?

The Fund was created on the initiative of philanthropic friends. They use their network and that of the asbl MAKS to collect donations. The collected funds are used to financially support various projects of the organization.

MAKS stimulates cooperation between residents and organisations in Brussels, with the aim of positively reinforcing and strengthening the social fabric and image of Cureghem. Mobilisation takes place through economic, social, cultural and artistic actions. The asbl MAKS empowers young and old residents socially and economically. To do this, it organises training and courses. It also supports and guides people who are looking for work. MAKS experiments creatively with the digital and graphic media of today. She uses these Multimedia to strengthen individuals in their participation in public life. It also looks for appropriate and effective ways for associations and authorities to relate to their public. It examines for them which language and form will make their communication and exchange of information smoother and more targeted.

In partnership with 5 companies, the asbl MAKS organizes the event "Discover your Talent" where young people receive a full day of coaching on job application skills. The success of the event has led to a request from other Brussels communes as well as companies wishing to take part in this project to organise several coaching days. The founders of the Friends of Fund of MAKS wish to support the "Discover your Talent" project.
