Optical genome mapping (OGM) is a new technology that can (partially) replace conventional cytogenetic tests for the detection of structural and numerical variants in hematologic cancers. OGM validation experiments and routine analysis of leukemia and lymphoma samples revealed many previously unidentified genomic aberrations. This project aims to detect recurrent variants that play a role in the leukemia/lymphoma disease mechanism or that predispose to the development of hematologic cancers.
