Presentation of the 'Results of research-action in Burundi' at AIDS 2022, Montreal.
Support
€ 4,300The main purpose of the project was the integration of LGBT people into public HIV/AIDS care structures.
In 2010, the King Baudouin Foundation organised a training course on project development and then launched a call for applications for projects in favour of sexual minorities, which the CPAMP CHU Kamenge responded to successfully. From 2011 to 2014, our project was selected three times. From 2015 to 2018, the project expanded into the provinces with funding from the Fondation de France.
We noticed that despite the criminalisation of homosexuality in Burundi, we were able to carry out activities in the field of HIV prevention and care for LGBT people. The result of our project, written in abstract and sent to the AIDS 2022 conference in Montreal, was selected for presentation at this prestigious world conference.
