History and archaeology
Preserving documents and archives of historical value.
The preservation of documentation and archives enables us to place our heritage within its historical, economic and social contexts, which in turn provide us with a better understanding of history. Aware of the importance of passing on such material to future generations, the King Baudouin Foundation is committed to safeguarding and promoting documents and archives of historical value. Various funds also support historical and archaeological research.
Our activities
- the acquisition of archives and documents of historical value, which are then entrusted to public museums and other institutions
- encouraging historical research
- facilitating philanthropy that supports historical or archaeological projects.
History and archaeology is part of the programme Heritage and culture
