Advisory Council
Makes recommendations on the Foundation's vision and direction.
Mission
The Advisory Council considers and debates the vision and direction followed by the King Baudouin Foundation. Its advice is crucial: it assists the Foundation in leading, validating and adjusting its activities and contributes to ensuring that its resources are used in the best possible way to serve society.
One of the functions of the Advisory Council is to provide recommendations to the Board of Governors regarding the strategic plan developed by the Executive Staff. This opinion is binding: it is only possible to deviate from this opinion if a substantiated decision is taken by a majority of two-thirds of the Board of Governors present or represented.
Composition
The Advisory Council comprises some 20 members, who are also members of the Foundation’s other committees, juries and working groups. It is presided over by the Chair of the Board of Governors. Members of the Advisory Council are nominated by the Board of Governors for a duration of four years, renewable once.
